The Knoxville Urban Pocket Park transposes the Appalachian Oak Forest, a nearby plant community, to urban Knoxville. The design choices made in this exercises respond to Knoxville's air quality issues, which are worsened by the Tennessee Valley's unique topographic situation. The Urban Appalachian Forest is an ecological productive and socially seductive nook settled in Old City.
