NEW HORIZONS demonstrates the process of reclaiming and redeveloping the soil to a rehabilitated lush state. In doing so, the project addresses four main issues of post-industrial urban soil: compaction, acidity, toxicity, and displacement of organic matter. By utilizing mycoremediation and resilient plantings, it will pioneer the process of establishing a new ecosystem. New Horizons is an experiment for a new generation of vegetative, fungal, and animal life.
